Apply culturally competent evidence-based practice skills adaptable to meet the needs of individuals and groups with diverse backgrounds by utilizing understandable language and multi-cullturally sensitive communication skills.

Rationale:   For this objective, I chose to use an interview I conducted with a women of Asian (Indian) decent.  The interviewing questions were designed to gain competent knowledge and realistic insight in order to better understand her culture.  I asked questions to about family structure, social system, religious and cultural practices. In a later class, I interviewed the same women, this time the focus was on understanding the class and gender issues that face women of the Indian culture.  The paper I was writing was targeted at the domestic abuse, and I asked questions about how women were treated in her culture.
